F2F: An acronym used on Twitter that means "face to face."

FAV: The FAV action on Twitter lets you mark a person's last message as a favorite message to be displayed in your Favorites Tab. To use FAV, type FAV username.

Fail Whale: On the Twitter site, the Fail Whale is an image of a whale held up by birds and nets. This image shows that Twitter has been overloaded or that a failure occurred within the service.

Follower / following: On Twitter, blogs, and other social media sites, a follower is someone who subscribes to receives your updates. On the Twitter Web site "following" someone means you will see their messages in your own personal timeline. Twitter lets you see all the people you follow and also who is following you.

FollowFriday (FF, or #followfriday): On Twitter, FollowFriday is a recommendation. It is used to call attention to a user's favorite followers and favorite people on Twitter. When you tweet a FF message, you are recommending that your followers also check out the people you mention in your post. When you send a FollowFriday message, you include #followfriday in your update so it can can be searched for using that hash tag.

Hash tag: A hash tag or hashtag is a way of organizing your updates for Twitter search engines. Users prefix a message with a community-driven hash tag to enable others to discover relevant posts. One commonly used hash tag on Twitter is #followfriday where users network by providing the names of their favorite people to follow on Twitter.

ICYMI: Short for "in case you missed it", the abbreviation may appear in a tweet that is a repost from the same person, just incase their followers missed it the first time it was tweeted.

microblog: A type of blog that lets users publish short text updates. Bloggers can usually use a number of service for the updates including instant messaging, e-mail, or Twitter. The posts are called micro posts, while the act of using these services to update your blog is called microblogging.

mistweet: Slang term used to describe a tweet that you later regret having sent.

NTS: Short for note to self. This chat abbreviation is frequently used on Twitter.

OH: Short for overheard. This chat abbreviation is used on Twitter, often in place of RT (retweet) when the user does not want to provide the username of the follower they are quoting.

PRT: Short for please retweet. This is a notation added to the end of a Tweet. PRT shows the user is asking others to retweet their post.

Retweet: Abbreviated as RT, retweet is used on Twitter to show you are tweeting something that was posted by another user. The format is RT @username where username is the Twitter name of the person you are retweeting.

social networking site: Abbreviated as SNS, a social networking site is the phrase used to describe any website that enables users to create public profiles within that Web site and form relationships with other users of the same website. Blackbird: The name of a Twitter client for BlackBerry smartphones. 

Blackbird Pie: A Twitter tool that allows individuals to embed tweets into Web sites or blog posts instead of copying and pasting tweets or taking screenshots. Users simply need to enter the URL of the tweet they want to include.

Check Yes or No: Users can visit this site to compose simple yes or no questions and then share them on Twitter by using the "Send to Twitter" feature.

Flock: A social browser with many Twitter related features. Users can send and read tweets, read mentions, and perform and save Twitter searches. There is also a character count tool Twitter users can use to make
sure they stay within the character limit.

Foamee: A website where Twitter users can keep track of who owes them drinks (beer or coffee) and what drinks they owe to others.

FollowersForSale: With this Twitter tool, users can buy a certain number of followers for a set price.

FoodFeed: Using this site, users can share their food and eating habits in Twitter posts.

Your update is posted on your Twitter profile page through SMS text messaging, the Twitter Web site, instant messaging, RSS, e-mail, or through other social applications and sites, such as Facebook. 

TwitterCard: A Twitter tool that lets you create a 125x125 pixel "TwitterCard" widget to display on your blog.

Twitter Maps: A mash-up that lets Twitter users update their locations on a Google Map and send a tweet with it.

Twitter Sparq: The name of the first advertising service for Twitter. Sparq provides a self-service interface that lets advertisers quickly set up the ads. Twubble: A Twitter tool that can be used to help you find other Twitter users who are compatible with your interests.

Indonesia Terancam Inflasi Pangan

Indonesia terancam inflasi pangan menyusul terjadinya gejolak harga bahan makananan di dunia pada 2010. Lantaran itu, kebijakan impor pangan telah tepat. Namun, kebijakan itu hanya untuk jangka pendek.

"Impor buat sementara untuk turunkan harga terlebih dahulu. Kalau harga lokal lebih mahal, impor bantu turunkan harga. Kalau harga lokal sama mahal, solusi yang paling tepat Raskin (Beras miskin) yang lebih baik daripada BLT (Bantuan Langsung Tunai)," kata Pengamat Ekonomi Fauzi Ikhsan di Jakarta, Ahad (6/2).

Menurutnya, inflasi tak hanya terjadi pada beras. Kenaikan harga akibat merosotnya nilai uang pun melanda kopi hingga 80 persen, gula mencapai 37 persen, dan jagung terkena inflasi 32 persen.

Untuk jangka panjang, Fauzi menyarankan pemerintah meningkatkan produksi pangan dan menurunkan konsumsi beras. Ia beropini, ketergantungan terhadap beras perlu dikurangi. Salah satu caranya dengan lebih memanfaatkan jagung.

Meski Mesir Krisis, Universitas Al-Azhar Tidak Libur

Krisis politik di Mesir yang terjadi sampai hari ini ternyata tidak mempengaruhi kalender pendidikan di negara tersebut. Hal ini nampak dari perguruan tinggi ternama di Mesir, Univesitas Al-Azhar, yang tidak meliburkan mahasiswanya.

Atase Pendidikan KBRI Kairo, Prof Dr Sangidu, M Hum, mengatakan, hasil komunikasi pihaknya dengan Rektorat Universitas Al-Azhar menyatakan, hingga saat ini jadwal Universitas Al-Azhar masih seperti semula.

"Yaitu liburan pertengahan tahun berakhir Jumat ini dan perkuliahan akan dimulai pada hari Sabtu 12 Februari mendatang," kata Sangidu lewat rilis yang diterima detikcom, Minggu (6/2/2011).

Dia melanjutkan, kantor administrasi urusan mahasiswa Al-Azhar juga telah dibuka sejak hari Kamis lalu. Beberapa mahasiswa telah datang ke kampus dan mengurus Surat Keterangan Kuliah.

Tidak adanya libur di Al-Azhar ini telah membuat banyak mahasiswa Indonesia di Mesir masih menimbang-nimbang tawaran evakuasi, dengan alasan khawatir ketinggalan kuliah termin kedua yang akan dimulai pada Sabtu 12 Februari mendatang. 

Pembantu Dekan Fakultas Studi Islam dan Bahasa Arab Al-Azhar Putri, Prof Dr Mahgah Ghalib mengatakan, di fakultasnya tidak ada perubahan jadwal, tanggal 12 Februari 2011 perkuliahan dimulai. Ghalib berharap jika ada mahasiswa Indonesia yang akan pulang sebaiknya menunggu pengumuman resmi.

Jakarta - Menko Polhukam Akui Persoalan Agama Rumit untuk Ditangani

Penyerangan terhadap jamaah Ahmadiyah di Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten, menambah panjang deretan peristiwa kekerasan yang dialami penganut aliran kepercayaan tersebut. Menko Polhukam Djoko Suyanto mengakui, persoalan keagamaan memang cukup rumit untuk ditangani.

"Ini persoalan yang rumit. Tidak bisa langsung ditangani Polhukam, ada dimensi khusus untuk menanganinya, yakni akan dikoordinasi Mendagri dan Menag," ujar Djoko dalam konferensi pers di kantor Kemenko Polhukam, Jl Medan Merdeka Barat, Minggu (6/1/2011) malam.

Djoko mengatakan, tidak bisa dilakukan langkah instan dengan mengubah atau menghapus SKB 2 Menteri untuk menyelesaikan persoalan ini. Menurutnya, langkah yang perlu diprioritaskan sekarang ini adalah pendekatan dengan segenap elemen yang ada.

"Masalah keyakinan itu masalah akidah," papar Djoko.

Senada dengan Djoko, Kapolri Jenderal Timur Pradopo juga menyebut persoalan Ahmadiyah ini bukan sesuatu yang mudah ditangani. Dia tidak menampik, insiden di Cikeusik, pada Minggu (6/2) pagi, menambah panjang daftar kekerasan pada jamaah Ahmadiyah.

"Sebelumnya ada di Kuningan, Bogor, Makassar, NTB," tukas mantan Kapolda Metro Jaya ini.

Dalam penyerbuan di Cikeusik, Pandeglang, tiga jamaah Ahmadiyah tewas. Seperti diutarakan dari pihak Ahmadiyah mereka yang tewas yaitu Mulyadi, Tarno dan Roni. Mulyadi adalah warga setempat atau tuan rumah, sedangkan Roni adalah jemaah yang datang dari Jakarta.

Berdasarkan data dari Mabes Polri sampai malam ini, ada enam jamaah yang mengalami luka berat. Mereka antara lain menderita luka bacok di kepala, patah tangan, luka bacok di punggung, dan pendarahan di mulut dan hidung. Korban tewas dan luka kini berada di RS Malingping. 

ICW Siap Ajukan Banding Soal Kasus Rekening Gendut

TEMPO InteraktifJakarta-  Indonesia Corruption Watch siap mengajukan banding jika keputusan Komisi Informasi Pusat tak dapat membuka informasi kasus rekening gendut sejumlah perwira Polri. "Keputusan KIP bukan yang terakhir dan mengikat. Ada mekanisme banding jika keputusan itu dinilai merugikan salah satu pihak," ujar Koordinator Divisi Investigasi ICW, Agus Sunaryanto, Ahad (6/2).

Pada 21 Oktober 2010 lalu, ICW mengadukan Mabes Polri ke KIP karena enggan membuka data soal rekening gendut sejumlah perwiranya. ICW sendiri meminta data ini karena tak puas dengan penjelasan Polri yang menyatakan 17 rekening itu tak terindikasi pidana atau dinilai wajar. Namun, Polri tak menjelaskan alasan dibalik penilaian itu. Keengganan Polri untuk membuka informasi ini karena mereka menilai data rekening ini masuk dalam data pribadi yang tak dapat diungkapkan ke publik. Merasa alasan ini janggal, ICW pun mengadukan Polri ke KIP.

Ditemui saat konferensi pers di kantornya, Agus mengatakan, Selasa (8/2) pekan depan, sidang akan mengagendakan pembacaan keputusan sengketa informasi ini.

Jakarta - Gitalis Dwi Natarina (Gita KDI) resmi dilantik sebagai anggota DPR pergantian antar waktu (PAW) atas Cecep Syafrudin, anggota FPKB DPR yang meninggal dunia. Meski demikian, Gita enggan melepas aktivitasnya sebagai penyanyi dangdut seratus persen.

"Luar biasa dan ini merupakan dunia baru bagi saya dan harapan saya mudah-mudahan saya mampu jadi wakil rakyat yang amanah. Nah kalau untuk bagaimana nanti di DPR saya sudah ada arahan dari Ketua Fraksi dan kemarin juga sudah mulai rapat kerja, jadi harapan Ketua Fraksi saya bisa lakukan tugas dengan baik," ujar Gita sesudah dilantik menjadi anggota DPR oleh Ketua DPR Marzuki Alie, di Gedung DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Rabu (2/2/2011).

Gita mengaku sudah kepincut dengan dunia musik. Ia juga sudah terikat kontrak dengan sejumlah stasiun TV swasta.

"Ya namanya hobi itu susah, apalagi saya masih terikat kontrak dengan MNC TV. Jadi saya harus mengikutinya walaupun saat ini sudah ada kelegowoan dari pihak MNC," ujar Gita yang akan menempati Komisi IX DPR ini.

Gita pun tak segan jika diminta menyanyi di DPR. Baginya seorang penyanyi adalah
bagian dari hidupnya.

"Ya nanti lah kalau hari libur atau ada cara di DPR ya kalau diberi kesempatan
ya saya siap," terangnya.

Gita lahir pada 10 Oktober 1985 di Garut, Jawa Barat. Namanya dikenal masyarakat setelah menjuarai kontes dangdut periode kedua di salah satu televisi swasta. Gita memperdalam ilmu seni musik di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung. Gadis berzodiak Libra ini juga memperdalam ilmu dakwah dan penyiaran Islam dengan kuliah di UIN Bandung.

BEKASI, KOMPAS.com - PSM Makassar berhasil menahan tuan rumah Batavia Union 1-1 dalam lanjutan kompetisi Liga Primer Indonesia (LPI) di Stadion Patriot Bekasi, Minggu (6/2/2011).
PSM Makassar bahkan unggul lebih dulu. Gol mereka dicetak Richard Knooper pada menit ke-31. Sayang, keunggulan itu tak bisa dipertahankan. Batavia menyamakan kedudukan lewat gol Juan Manual Cortes yang sukses mengeksekusi tendangan penalti pada menit ke-51.
Pada pertandingan itu, wasit mengeluarkan dua kartu merah pada menit ke-75. Satu kartu untuk kapten Batavia Union, Javier Rocha, dan satu lagi untuk gelandang PSM Makassar, Mitrovic Srecko.

Gudang Lee Cooper Dibobol Maling, Kerugian Rp 107 Juta detikNews

Sebuah gudang milik perusahaan jeans Lee Cooper yang berada di Jl Raya Bogor Km 26, Ciracas, Jakarta Timur, dibobol kawanan maling. Sebanyak 365 buah pakaian jadi dibawa kabur perampok. Kerugian mencapai Rp 107 juta.

Peristiwa tersebut dibenarkan oleh Kepala Sub Bagian Humas Polrestro Jakarta Timur, Kompol Didik Haryadi dalam pesan singkatnya kepada wartawan, Minggu (6/2/2011).

"Peristiwanya terjadi Sabtu tanggal 5 Februari 2011, pukul 05.30 WIB," tulis Didik dalam pesan singkatnya tersebut.

Dia menambahkan, berdasarkan keteranan saksi perampok diperkirakan berjumlah 3 orang. "Mereka masuk lewat pintu gerbang depan setelah sebelumnya melumpuhkan 2 orang satpam. Pelaku tidak menggunakan senpi (senjata api)," ujar Didik.

Sementara itu, sebanyak 356 pakaian jadi dan 3 ponsel milik satpam juga raib digondol maling. "Kerugian diperkirakan Rp 107 juta," ujar Didik.
